The Greek art
of arrival.
Bespoke journeys through Greece — secluded villas, the finest hotels, crewed yachts and the islands few ever see. Designed entirely around you.
Begin the conversationA house,
not an agency.
Atelier Galene is a private travel house. We do not sell packages; we compose journeys — one family, one voyage, one summer at a time. Every detail is considered, every arrangement is ours to hold, and discretion is simply assumed.
We are small by design. The families we look after return to us year after year — and we look after very few of them at once.
Where we take you.
Two worlds, seamlessly joined — the marble and light of Athens, and a sea scattered with islands.
Athens, unhurried
Antiquity after hours, hidden courtyards, and a private gateway to the sea.
Discover AthensThe Greek Islands
Five islands we know intimately — and the route between them, designed by sea.
Discover the islandsA house, a hotel, the open sea.
We hold the relationships. For each journey we secure the very best — and never publish a list.
Villas
Staffed, secluded homes across Greece — known personally, never listed.
VillasHotels
The landmark names and the small, exceptional houses — secured, not booked.
HotelsYachts
Stays aboard and luxury day cruises — the right vessel for the voyage.
YachtsThe journey is not booked.
It is made.
Care,
throughout.
From the first conversation to the journey home, a single travel designer composes your travels and stands behind them. You will never be passed between desks, and never repeat yourself.
Between places, every connection is ours to handle — private aviation, a helicopter to the villa door, a car and driver at every step. And on each island, a trusted network ensures that whatever the day asks for is resolved before it reaches you.
Every journey begins
with a conversation.
Tell us a little about the journey you have in mind. We will reply personally.
Begin the conversationAn atelier for the journey.
The word atelier means a workshop — a place where things are made by hand, with care. That is how we think of travel: not booked, but made.
Designed entirely around you.
Atelier Galene was founded in Athens on a simple belief: the finest journeys are those shaped to the traveller, not the destination. We begin with you — how you like to spend a morning, the company you keep, the pace that suits you — and everything that follows is made to fit.
We accept only a small number of journeys each season. It is the only way to give each the attention it deserves.
From first idea to final detail.
One designer, start to finish
A single travel designer takes your journey from the first conversation to the final arrangement — so nothing is lost in translation, and you are always speaking to someone who knows you.
Propose, refine, arrange
We suggest, you respond, we shape it further. When every detail is right, we arrange it — and then step back, present but unseen.
Care, in-destination
Your designer is reachable through your journey, and across Greece a trusted network of villa managers, captains, drivers and fixers stands ready — so the impossible reservation, the change of plan, the small emergency, are quietly resolved.
Privacy is the air
we work in.
Discretion is not a service we offer; it is simply how we operate. Names are never shared, arrangements never discussed, and your time in Greece remains entirely your own.
For many of the families we look after, this matters most of all — and we treat it accordingly.
Greece, known intimately.
We are Greek, and we travel our own country constantly. The villa that has just changed hands, the island taverna with six tables, the captain worth knowing, the cove reached only by sea — this is what we bring. It cannot be searched for.
Athens, unhurried.
A city of marble and light — best seen privately, and slightly out of step with the crowds.
The city, at your pace.
Athens rewards those who move through it quietly — a private morning at the Acropolis Museum, a collector's home rarely opened to visitors, a long lunch in a courtyard the guidebooks do not know. We open doors, and we keep the city at your pace.
The Parthenon, to yourselves.
Private access
Where it can be arranged, stand before the Parthenon with no one else upon the rock, or walk the ancient Agora with a scholar who brings the stones to life.
Art & the modern city
Contemporary galleries, the studios of Greek makers, and the new Athens of design and the table — curated to your interests.
The table
From a Michelin room to a taverna loved by Athenians for fifty years, we book the table that suits the evening.
A landmark suite,
or a private residence.
From a suite above Constitution Square with the Acropolis at the window, to a private residence in leafy Kolonaki, we place you where the city feels like your own — and arrange everything within it.
The city flows into the sea.
Seamless transfers, private aviation, and a yacht waiting in the bay — Athens is also the threshold to the islands.
Plan your Athens journeyA sea of islands.
Some six thousand islands; a handful that will become yours. We design the route, the rhythm, and the places only locals reach.
Each island,
its own world.
No two Greek islands are alike. An hour apart by sea, and the light changes, the stone changes, the table changes. The Cyclades wear whitewash and blue against the bare rock; sail east, and the islands soften into green.
We spend our summers among them, and we have come to know which island suits which traveller — the one who wants to be seen, and the one who wants to disappear. What follows are the five we are asked for most.
Where we will take you.
Mykonos
Cosmopolitan by day, electric by night — and serene the moment you know where to look.
DiscoverParos
The Cyclades as they were — whitewashed, unhurried, effortlessly elegant.
DiscoverSantorini
The most dramatic landscape in the Aegean — and far more than its sunset.
DiscoverMilos
Lunar shores and turquoise coves — the Aegean at its most elemental.
DiscoverSamos
Green hills, ancient sanctuaries, and a coastline almost no one has found.
DiscoverThese are the five we are asked for most — but the Aegean holds countless more. Tell us how you like to travel, and we will suggest islands you may never have considered, tailoring the journey entirely to you.
Island to island,
on the water.
The islands were made to be seen from the sea. We compose voyages that move with the wind and your whim — a different anchorage each evening, a swim before breakfast, dinner ashore where it suits.
Mykonos.
Cosmopolitan by day, electric by night — and quietly serene the moment you know where to look.
Two Mykonos.
There is the Mykonos of the world — the harbour, the names, the long lunches that drift into evening. And there is the other Mykonos, found down a lane in the old town at dawn, or on a northern beach the wind keeps to itself.
The windmills still turn above Little Venice; the sea is the colour of glass. We give you both, and the freedom to move between them entirely unseen.
Mykonos, on your terms.
Where to stay
The right house or suite, on the right side of the island for the summer you have in mind.
The table
The reservation that is impossible in August — and the taverna no one has heard of.
The sea
A boat for the day to Rhenia and the uninhabited islets, away from the crowds entirely.
Begin with Mykonos.
Begin the conversationParos.
The Cyclades as they were — whitewashed, unhurried, and effortlessly elegant.
The Cyclades,
whole.
Paros has the beauty of its famous neighbours without the noise. Naoussa's old harbour fills softly at dusk; marble villages climb the hills; the beaches are long and clear. It is the island for those who want the Cyclades complete — light, sea, and a slower pulse.
Increasingly, it is where the discerning go instead of Mykonos. We were here first.
The quieter Cyclades.
Where to stay
A private house above the sea, or a discreet retreat a short walk from Naoussa's harbour.
Villages & marble
Lefkes and the old marble quarries, the backstreets of Parikia, the artisans still working the stone.
Beaches & sea
Long golden bays, hidden coves, and a crossing to little Antiparos for the day.
Begin with Paros.
Begin the conversationSantorini.
The most dramatic landscape in the Aegean — and far more than its sunset.
More than
its sunset.
Everyone knows the caldera at golden hour. Fewer know Santorini at dawn, before the ships, when Oia belongs to no one. Fewer still know the vineyards on the island's quiet side, the volcanic wines, the black-sand shores.
We place you above the caldera in the right room, and we give you the island when it is at its most beautiful — early, late, and entirely yours.
The island, privately.
The right view
A caldera-edge suite or a private cave house, positioned for the light and the quiet.
Antiquity & wine
The Bronze-Age city of Akrotiri before it opens, and a tasting of Assyrtiko with the people who make it.
The caldera, by boat
A private sail to the volcano and the hot springs, and the sunset from the water rather than the crowd.
Begin with Santorini.
Begin the conversationMilos.
Lunar shores and turquoise coves — the Aegean at its most elemental.
Shaped by
the volcano.
Milos is sculpted by fire: white rock folded like meringue at Sarakiniko, sea caves the colour of a swimming pool, coves reached only from the water. It is wilder and quieter than its neighbours, and all the more beautiful for it.
This is the island for those who want the sea above all — and the freedom of a boat to find the very best of it.
The sea, above all.
By sea
A private boat to Kleftiko's sea caves and the coves no road reaches — the only way to see Milos whole.
Where to stay
A design retreat above the bay, or a quiet house in the fishing villages of Klima and Pollonia.
The shores
Sarakiniko's white moonscape at first light, and a different beach for every mood.
Begin with Milos.
Begin the conversationSamos.
Green hills, ancient sanctuaries, and a coastline almost no one has found.
A different
Greece.
Far to the east, where the Aegean meets the Anatolian coast, Samos is a different Greece — forested, fragrant with its famous wine, and steeped in antiquity as the island of Pythagoras. The beaches are quiet, the villages unspoilt, and the Turkish shore lies a short crossing away.
For the traveller who has seen the Cyclades and wants something rarer, this is where we send them.
The rare east.
Antiquity
The Heraion sanctuary and ancient Pythagoreion, with a scholar to walk you through them.
The coast & sea
Hidden green coves, mountain villages, and the vineyards behind the famous sweet wine.
The crossing
A private day across to the Turkish coast — Ephesus and the bazaars of Kuşadası, and home by evening.
Begin with Samos.
Begin the conversationA house
of your own.
A private collection of Greece's finest homes — staffed, secluded, and held quietly. Never listed.
Houses we would
stay in ourselves.
Cliffside estates above the Aegean, restored stone manors, beachfront residences with the sea at the step. We do not publish them, because the right house depends entirely on you — but each one in our collection is a place we know personally and would happily call home.
Staffed, seamless, unobserved.
A full household
Private chef, housekeeping, and a villa manager who anticipates rather than asks — provisioning to your taste before you arrive, down to how you take your morning coffee.
Privacy by design
Gated and discreet, chosen for seclusion, with space for family and guests and the quiet certainty that your time is unobserved.
Beyond the villa
A tender on call, a car and driver at the gate, experiences arranged without ever leaving the comfort of the house. The villa is the beginning, not the boundary.
The collection is private.
Our homes are shared only in conversation. Tell us what you have in mind, and we will propose the few that fit.
Enquire about the collectionThe finest rooms
in Greece.
We do not publish a list. We simply secure the best — wherever you wish to be.
Held in
confidence.
We hold relationships with the most distinguished hotels and private retreats across Greece — the landmark names and the small, exceptional houses few have heard of. We do not display them here, because the right place depends entirely on you.
For each journey we approach them directly. We secure the room, the rate, and the recognition that comes from being known — the upgrade, the late checkout, the welcome that says you were expected.
The best, wherever you are.
The best at any destination
From a clifftop suite in Santorini to a quiet beach house on an island you have never heard of, we place you in the finest a destination can offer.
Known, not booked
We do not send an enquiry to a website. We speak to the people we know, and you arrive as a guest of the house.
Discretion throughout
No names are shared — here, or anywhere. Your stay, like everything we arrange, remains entirely your own.
Tell us where you wish to be.
We will secure the finest the destination can offer.
Begin the conversationThe sea,
on your terms.
We do not list a fleet. We find the right vessel for your voyage — to live aboard, or for a single perfect day.
The right boat,
never a brochure.
We hold no fixed fleet on this page, because the right yacht depends entirely on the journey — the season, the route, the company, the mood. For each charter we go to the captains and owners we know and secure the vessel that fits, then design the voyage around you.
No names, no listings. Simply the best boat on the water for your week.
Stay aboard, or sail for the day.
Stay aboard
Crewed motor and sailing yachts — and traditional gulets — for a week or a fortnight at sea. A different anchorage each night, a captain who knows the quiet bays, a chef who provisions from the morning's catch.
Day cruises
When a villa is home, take to the sea by day: a luxury catamaran for a long, lazy sail, or a fast RIB to reach a hidden cove, a sea cave, or lunch on the next island — and back by sunset.
Crew & cuisine
Discreet, attentive crew, and a table aboard to rival any ashore. Entirely yours, for the day or the voyage.
By air, sea and road.
How you move between places matters as much as the places themselves. Every connection is ours to arrange — seamlessly, and out of sight.
Seamless, door to door.
Private aviation
Private jets between cities and countries, and light aircraft to islands with their own runways. We handle the aircraft, the slots and the ground handling — you simply arrive.
Helicopter transfers
The fastest and most beautiful way between Athens and the islands, or island to island — set down at the villa, the yacht, or a clifftop pad above the sea.
Cars & drivers
A discreet car and professional driver at every door — airport, hotel, restaurant, harbour — for an evening or for the length of your stay.
Sea transfers
Fast tenders and private boats between islands, ports and anchorages, timed to your day rather than a schedule.
We will arrange that too.
Wherever you need to be, and however you wish to travel.
Begin the conversationThe moments between.
What a journey is remembered for is rarely the room. It is the morning, the table, the door that opened. These are ours to arrange.
Access
After-hours antiquity, private museum mornings, homes and collections rarely seen — arranged through relationships, not transactions.
On the water
A day on a classic wooden caïque, a swim in a sea cave reached only by tender, a private island for an afternoon. The Aegean, to yourselves.
Culture & cuisine
A table in a celebrated chef's kitchen, a tasting with an island winemaker, an evening of music in a room that holds only a few. Greece, through its makers.
For the whole family
Sailing lessons and treasure hunts among the ruins, a marine biologist for the children, gentle adventures that delight every generation.
